Four Months Old

Ethan is four months today!

My mom-in-law said that it is time to put on his bib, dry his saliva with it and then hang it up high. It's an old wives tale that the baby will stop salivating after doing this. We'll see!

I'm leaving for Japan with the husband but without my baby on Thursday :(
Half excited half not. Mainly because we know we will be missing him a lot.

BUT, once back from Japan, we've booked ourselves tickets to Bali with Ethan along.
So looking forward to the trip. Lets hope for the best :)

Teething

Ethan is turning 4 months old in 5 days time. How time flies!

He is teething already. I could feel the 2 bottom teeth :) we bought the tether for him but he has yet to figure out how to grib. 

 Baby is also lifting his head much stronger and higher! So proud of him. But his feeding pattern is a little messed up. He no longer wants to direct feed from my boobs that much anymore. Not much appetite due to teething as well.

Ethan is 3 months old

It'd been so long since I last blogged! How time flies.

Time has become so precious since our little one came into our lives.

Everyday, I will try to leave the office by 5pm - 5.30pm. I have found a new short cut back home (yay!) so I'll arrive home by 6.30pm.

Once arrived, I'll quickly take a bathe, transfer my breastmilk into bottles and chill them in the fridge. Then, it's time to feed Ethan or comfort him so he'll nap for a while. But normally, he'll continuing playing with his plush toys.

We'll place him in his rocker while we have dinner. By 9pm, it's Ethan's feeding time. Normally, he'll sleep after this feed. Otherwise, I'll make sure he sleeps by 10pm.

I've learned to also dream feed him, meaning feed him while he's still sleeping at 11.30pm/12am. Then, I'll pump and then go to bed.

At about 5am - 6am, Ethan will want his feed. I'll normally wake up after he's done.

By 7.30am, Ethan will wake up because it's his poo time. Yah, his body clock will want the potty at this point of time. Otherwise, he'll dirty his diaper and it'll be a hell of a mess. He doesn't like it!

I'll always wait until he wakes up, put him in his potty, change his diaper and then put him back in his cot for him to play/sleep. Then, i'll go to work.

And the cycle goes on like that. I'll still try to pump my breastmilk every 3-4 hours once at work. It depends on my work schedule/appointments for the day. But so far, everything is good even though I have been so busy!

Oh update about Ethan!

He is now 3 months old. :)

He's laughing! Yes, laughing ... a lot of chuckles and more baby talk. He plays a lot with his saliva too. Funny is that whenever he does that, it'll rain. It's an old wives tale. But quite accurate.

I've stopped wearing mittens for him so he can start touching different textures. He loves it :)
I love it when he touches my face when I'm breastfeeding him.

Very heart-warming.

I love being a mother.

Parenthood

The changes that happened in our lives as parents begin right from the start when I was pregnant. Now that Ethan is born, more changes take place at a much rapid pace whether you like it or not.

Shopping hours

Financial planning

Lack of sleep

Patience and commitments

Biological changes 

So much more.

It is indeed a very steep learning curve. A lot of things are sacrificed and put a side. However, what that bind us together in the end is our undying love for our newborn son.

7 Weeks Old

Ethan is now 7 weeks old.

I'm soaking in every little time I have spending with him. Because I know when I go back to work, I only have that little time with him during weekdays. I hope I would not cry when I go back to work.

The husband is asking me to slowly let go. It's difficult. I miss him all the time when we were at the movies last weekend. I kept wanting to rush home. Is this normal?

He's getting a little fussy in the evenings. I'm not sure if it is colic or he's too tired because he refuse to sleep the whole afternoon! Yes, he loves company and so playful :)

The husband and I just bought tickets to go to Tokyo for 6 days in April. We will not be bringing Ethan along. I wonder how I would cope being away from my baby for 6 whole days. I wonder how.
