Moo-Moo Year (Part 1)

I'm back! Back to my pad in KL!

It was a very good break from work, buzz of the city and assignments. A very much needed break after such a long time.

Although I wasn't back for a long time, but it was better than none.

I went back early Saturday morning. My uncle drove his S60 Volvo back with all of us (aunt, cousin and I) tugged at the passenger seats. We started our journey at 6am.

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Finally at 1pm, we arrive Kelantan. Long and winding journey had came to an end!

The first thing we did was going to Hover Restaurant for lunch!

Different kinds of curry mix together, blend it together with rice + fried chicken. Yummy~

After that, we went straight home to my house, where I grew up. My mom did a lot of changes to the room, especially the guest room.

This is me in the Snow-White Room, where I used to sleep.
Taken on the first day of CNY.
Do you like my cheongsam? My first ever cheongsam by Darling :)

A lot of changes to the Guest Room.

After that, I went straight to my grandmother's house to visit my grandmother, aunts and cousins!

She grew up real fast.

Finally, it was the night before Chinese New Year where all Chinese would have their Reunion Dinner.

Chef for the night: my dad (of course)

Here are a few dishes for the night. Let the pictures speak for itself!

Yam cake + mixed vegetables

Meat balls (non-halal), by my mom

Roast duck with special sauce from daddy's cook book

Sweet and Sour Pork (so far, I think daddy makes the best!)

And we all started our dinner. These are my relatives from my dad's side.

Even the kids were happy with the food!

First day of CNY!!! Mommy had to wake all of us up because we slept too late the night before.

My youngest sister dressed up my dog, Kiki, a little bit

Yep, with a red bow. Haha!

Then it was family photo before going to the temple to offer prayers to the Buddha and our ancestors.

1, 2, 3.........Oops, not everybody was in!

Now, we're partly complete...basically because one of my sisters wasn't around

On the first day of CNY, my parents did an open house, inviting my mom's colleagues and my dad's staffs.

Some of you may not be aware that my mom teaches the special children. Thus, a few of them were present with their parents.

This year, we decided to personally give them ang pows, contributed not just by my mom, but also other people. Darling, his mom and I contributed.

My favourite kid in my mom's class where I used to help out.

The crowd

And then, I got a phone call from my cousin saying that the little girl was crying... bad mood. I rushed over and saw her sleeping. I open up my arms towards her, offering to carry her out of her bed. She smiled immediately. Cute :)

Look at her... now she's happy

My nephew was back too! My first baby nephew, David.
Now, these are the two youngest member in the family. Hehe.

We had a feast for dinner too! My dad cooked up a few dishes...

And we had our "yee sang"

Day 2 of CNY, I went visiting to my relatives house in other districts. And then, rushed home to meet the best friend!

How can we not meet? Even though we only had very limited time.

Day 2, we had a feast for dinner too! My parents did another open house for relatives and our Chinese friends. My sisters invited their classmates too :)

This time, daddy had the permission from my mom to cook whatever he liked! Especially when it comes to the number of dishes!

Menu for the night:

1) Shark fin soup
2) Pumpkin soup
3) Russian salad
4) Coleslaw
5) Meat roll
6) Roasted Duck with special sauce
7) Fried Bee Hoon
8) BBQ chicken (by my uncle from the BBQ pit)
9) Indonesian layer cake (contributed by Aunt May)
10) Watermelon (contributed by my mom)

My favourite Russian salad! Finished within half an hour!

But the little girl was having an upset stomach. She vomitted a few times before coming to my house.

Poor girl
But once she saw the piano, her eyes lit up!

My cousin put a flower on her ear.

Doesn't she look cute?

Family photo. Only 1/3 of the family was around.

Close friends I grew up with. If you listen to Fly FM, you'll know Jules.
She's wearing purple. :)

My dearest grandmother and I

My forth aunt was so happy the little girl let her carry for the very first time!
Normally, she would cry even before my aunt could lay her hands on her.

Random picture:

She came to my house like that. Very steady hor!?!
