A Story to Live By

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I wil lmarry you.' One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including herboyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is a Gift

Today:
before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.
before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someonewho has nothing to eat.
before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someonewho's crying out to GOD for a companion.
before you complain about life - Think of someone who died too early on this earth.
before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.
before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
and when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
but before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us is without sin.
and when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

Thank you Bambz, for sharing this with the rest of us. It is very inspiring and awe eye-opening indeed.

I have finished my thesis! Since my sister was around, I went to 1 Utama with her to get some stuff. And here's my update ....

Comfy Sheets!

Love the lace trimming

Since it is time for dumpling (how time flies!) again ... I decided to learn how to make one myself from the master aka. Darling's mommy. Trust me, she makes really yummy dumpling!

Firstly, the leaves ....

The leaves have to be folded in a way to cater for the glutinous rice

Salted egg-yolk

The rest of the ingredients ... which is what makes the dumpling smell and taste good!

And walah~~~ the dumpling!

I did these three while the mother was out for a few minutes. Pandai or not? :)

Sick... I am sick... How can I fall sick on the very last week before the new semester starts?!

Isn't this pathetic?!

But anyway, I think it's the bad, unpredictable weather and my late nights due to the thesis for the pass few weeks. My body just couldn't take it anymore.

But I'm recovering after the visit to the clinic today. I went without being pestered by Darling for the millionth time. This time, I gave in after he persuaded me to go to the doctor on the 3rd time.

Nahh...
just in case you forget how I look like. Cis~

Haha!

I'll be at Darling's place tomorrow, learning how to make dumpling from the master herself. Kekeke...will blog about it!

Take care, people.

A Man

I read this poem on one of the blogs I visit. It is about a man.

Sometimes we do wonder why do we need a man in our lives.

Most of us thought we do not need a man.
Some of us wander around looking for a man.
Most of us grumble about the man we have in our lives.
But all of us want the perfect man.

As Nira put in her own words on what she look for in a man...

a man who knows how to appreciate the things I do for him.

a man who pampers me with something that money can't buy

a man who knows his mistakes and try to make it right.

a man who can be my pillow whenever i need someone to lean on.

a man who knows when to give in and let down his pride.

a man who communicates, listens and responds

a man who respects me, my family and his.

a man who enjoys what life has to offer.

a man who can say yes or no instead of 'anything'.
I would say... a man who knows when to make a good decision

a man who won't keep me waiting though the day or night.

a man who (at least) try figure out what's going on inside me and resolve it.
Now, sometimes, we need to speak out...but getting someone to figure what's inside our head is interesting, eh?

a man who helps the relationship work when it gets tough
This is so important in a relationship because it is not a walk in the park.

a man who'd never lay his hand on (another) woman
Hah! A man who does are all idiots and should be burnt in hell

a man who works hard and plan well for his future
True, and also put his wife and family in all the plans he has...

a man who is motivated

a man who takes responsibility for his actions

a man who gives me freedom that I need.

a man who loves me with no doubts.
Because I love my man without any doubt. Love is simple. We're the ones who make it complicated.

And, to all women out there, cherish your man for who he is despite his flaws.
Because we're not perfect ourselves.

Take less, expect less ... give more.

Sweet Memories

My sister got an offer to study Hotel Management in TAR College. For those who know me long enough, you'll know I studied here. Hehe.

It was a thrill to go back for a visit after so long. My last time there was for an Open Day duty for UTAR.

To my pleasant surprise, KTAR has revamped! Looking so much more modern and beautiful!

KTAR is now gated by steel gates, it used to be bricks (very old-school-looking)
But now, so beautiful!

If you see behind the gates, that's the new building.
Very beautiful and modern-looking. :)

We went to the hostel to help my sister check-in.

Yep, I used to stay here. And I love it a lot.

Another surprise was that it looks so new and bright now! Not that it used to be so ugly. But it looked old.

Now, it has this Visitor's Place...air-conditioned!!!

The beautiful canteen

We went to check-in and was given Block A.

I was excited because I used to stay in Block A! But she got the 3rd floor, while I used to stay on the 4th floor. :)

It was again, surprising, when we opened the door.

Horror surprise.

How can someone live like that?

You have to practically climb across a pile of rubbish to get into bed.

Another pile of rubbish in front of the cupboard

We (my darling and I) made a conclusion that she never stayed there before

As usual, I suggested to complain and CHANGE.

Even though Darling said (and I saw) that there was a huge notice that we are not allowed to ask for a change of rooms.

We went to the office and to my surprise, they knew her and the root to the problem.

So, why the hell do you still give me that room?!?!

To test and see if we'll accept your offer like idiots?

Anyway, maybe she has problems.

We were told that she was there for 4 years and has changed courses so many times that she is not going to graduate yet. An average student take 2 years to graduate.

My dad said "You should get Alam Flora to shift her things already"

Haha!

We got a new room and it was still Block A (the best!) and on the 4th floor.

My dad was worried that there will be leakage problems but please-lah...I don't think so.

Because Block A, 4th floor, has very clean walls...and still the cleanest among all floors. Trust me.

See, it's bright and clean.

I used to stay here with a girl name Winne and then after she moved out, Karen Kong came to the rescue :)

My sister is at Room 405

VERY much better

We helped her unpack and clean up the room

In the mean time, lots of memories of me spending time in the quiet little hostel room with my roommate started filling up my mind.

Lots of DVD moments, staying up til late nights talking to hostel friends and mostly, Karen..oh, how I miss her. Because she's a really nice girlfriend for a nice girly pillow talk :)

This used to be her room before she moved into mine. :)

I will miss my KTAR moments.

Because I made really good friends and had wonderful memories :)

Editing, typing, reading journals, work, cook, eat, sleep...

Only practically doing these for the pass few days. I feel like such a pathetic nerd.

Trying to finish my thesis as soon as possible.

I'm so sick of it. I really need to get it done before I go insane.

Stay tuned!

XOXO,
theRascal.

Another belated birthday gift from my bosses... aww... :)

Am I an Ice Princess?

It comes with really nice cut-out cotton, my favourite!

With really nice puffy sleeves and gutters

Isn't it sweet?

I love it I love it I love it

Thanks guys!!! You're fabulous :)

Oh yes...!

Darling planned a trip to Seremban Seafood Village for delicious crab as Mother's Day celebration. :)

We chose to dine here

Of course, Darling's mommy and his younger brother was there too! :)

The proud mommy and younger brother

After a while, starters were served.

Very super-deliciously special sauce to go with the dishes, especially the crab!

I miss this special sauce

Kam Heong Lala : RM8

Fried vegetables with garlic : RM10

Toufu in special sauce : RM8

Baked BBQ Crab RM65

The crab was superbly delicious!
BBQ'ing the crab brought out the smell of the crab but still maintains the original sweetness of its meat on the inside.

A little expensive, but totally worth it!

After lunch, we head for Seremban's famous Siew Pow

They also have a restaurant outside their shop, I wonder if they are connected?

What are they doing????

Erm..... guess.......

It's Nintendo Wii!

If you could relate to my previous postings, I have been complaining of boredom quite a lot lately. Probably due to this crucial part of my academic life which I'm facing right now.

Darling was being very supportive all these while by cheering me up whenever he can.

And his brother would really love the Wii ... thus, here comes the Wii.... *all smiles*

Inside the packaging

Darling bought this set of gadgets to make it more fun!

More controllers so more people could play

To my surprise, Nintendo Wii comes in really cute white design in a little box.

If you know me, my hand is really tiny.
Look, it is as tall as the size of my tiny palm!

Also bought the stand to charge the controllers as well as keeping the Wii cool when we play

It was play time for the rest of the day ;)

Wanna Wii ? :)
