Wohoo Singapore

Right after my trip to Perth and my husband's work trip to East Malaysia, we came back on the same day, unpacked and re-packed for our flight to Singapore the following day.

Now I know how my sister feels. It feels shitty having to pack all the time. We were both so tired. And let's not talk about jet-lag, as it happens to her when she flies back from the US.

Anyway, we went to buy some fruits at Meidiya Grocer, a Japanese grocer at Liang Court. I saw this beautiful strawberries that the store-keeper was unpacking from the box. It was so fresh! But, too expensive.

Darling said "of course lar, just flew in via Japan Airlines" while pointing at the stick on the box.

=.= seriously?!?!

Anyway, I told him not to buy.

But as usual, he woke up the next day, went to buy something else from Meidiya and came back with strawberries.

thank you i love you :)

look how beautiful! very sweet too!

In our recent trips to Singapore, we would always end up at Wild Honey. It's now our place to go whenever we're hungry and when we happen to be in Singapore. what am i talking about

We're in love with this place. It's cosy and serves very good food!

He loves the coffee.

And both of us were definitely in love with their homemade bread :)

On one of the nights, we chose to stay at Crown Plaza Changi as we had a very early flight to catch the next day.

To our surprise, our room was actually facing the airport runway!

See that Singapore Airlines plane there? Just outside our window!

The husband was very excited. He loves planes. So, whenever a plane is ready to take-off, he'll stand there observing. Or, predicting if this flight is going to the US/Japan/ etc.

I would join in the excitement, but was more excited that our room was so beautiful!!! =.=

Anyway, I spent an hour in the bathroom soaking myself in luke warm water and a magazine in my hand. Relaxing. That was all I need after so much traveling in a month.

Carpe diem.

Perth (for work)

Finally, I'm now blogging about Perth after nearly a month. :S

I know, I've been slacking too much on blogging these days.

If you have seen my Facebook updates, you'll notice that I was in Perth for a few meetings at Murdoch University. My colleague, Saranjit, and I were there to do academic planning for 2013.

At first, I was dragging myself. Simply because it'll be my first time traveling alone after years of holidaying with of course, the husband. He told me that it's time for me to get used to it, especially when I don't have a choice but to travel alone for work. Sad, isn't it?

And then, he found out that he had to fly to East Malaysia for work too! So, we were both away for work those few days. I'm sort of glad that he'll be busy when I'm also busy. At least, he won't feel left out/lonely.

Anyway, I travelled Malaysia Airlines (yay!).

They prompt their menu on their all new touch screens now!

It was all work and meeting our Australian partners within the next few days. Now, we can put faces to names :)

We were very lucky to arrive in Perth, welcomed by such lovely weather. It was a little chilly, windy and sunny at the same time! Just nice for a little tan :)

I made it a point to meet my students. So, we sat in this beautiful place on campus called Bush Court. Under the trees, we chatted. Of course, a lot of student issues to solve for them. I was just glad I could help them.

I asked the students what do they do in Perth as many told me that it is one boring city. So, we travelled to the city and they showed me some interesting sites!

In this picture below, we had coffee at London Court.

Took a beautiful photo at Bell Tower:

It was a very lovely day. A few of them went back to the student village to cook up their own dinner. I decided to stay in the city for dinner since I can't possibly be buying stuff to cook at my place even there's a kitchen. So, a few of my students who wanted to accompany me for dinner stayed on. Awwwww :)

Here are a few pictures of Murdoch University. It is a lovely place.

I was dying to go home. I felt a little homesick traveling without family, especially without the husband. So, even I flew back to KL right after my meeting and a lunch with my students that Friday evening.

We had a final group shot before I board the cab.

AND they really said their good byes. My students are so funny. Very drama too -__-

The taxi driver asked "Are you not coming back again?"
I said "of course, they'll be more trip to Western Australia. It's lovely isn't it?"

:)

See you, Perth. I'll be back. Soon. *as my boss said so last week =.=*

Pretty Little Things

People who knows me, would know that I love balloons.

A. lot.

Second year into knowing my in-laws, they knew I would turn up at birthday parties with balloons for the kids.

Even my colleagues know that.

And sometimes, people call me childish. whatever.

I find balloons very pretty. It makes me happy. Besides flowers, balloons would just make up my day. Easily. I love to see them float. :)

Looking at all these pictures, I wish I have a party to organize right now.

I'll sponsor the balloons. :)
