Something Meaningful Back Home

After not being back to Kelantan for a long time, ... yes... I haven't been back since Chinese New Year. Call me not being a filial or whatever you want... but my mother is always around in KL during most of the holidays!!! What's the point of going back right?

Then, I figured out that I really need to visit both my grannies who are still residing in Kelantan. Almost immediately (after constant nags by dearest mommy), I clicked on Mozilla Firefox on my lappie, hook up Air Asia's official website and got myself a return ticket at a reasonable price.

I really miss both my grandmothers, aunties, cousins and my hometown delicacies (!!!)

But the first thing I did after arriving on a last flight on Sunday night, of course going to bed ...wth... (after a long chat with mommy).

So the first thing I actually really did was visiting my mom's children. Ok, apart from me as one of her daughters, she has another bunch of children. As in her students... and I love them a lot because they are very special people I have in my life apart from family, darling, kai pei and friends.

I'll let these following pictures do the talking :)

Here's mommy asking her shy but hyperactive little girl to sit on the chair. See her friend helping her out?

And do you see the little boy, name Peng Khai, who is smiling to the camera on the left? He's so cute.

Mommy conducting her class...

These are students for her 9am class. They are much more cheekier and is VERY sensitive to the camera... in a good way :)

The boy first from the left is very smart, 2nd and 3rd from the left is very talkative + hyperactive, 4th boy is new ... so still a little blur on what is happening around him, and the one on the far right is still having problems accommodating to the classroom setting but I am sure he'll do well :)

They love this part of the acitivity. It is called the Hug Therapy. How cool is that?

Then, mommy poured out coloured sticks and the children are suppose to follow the shapes she does.

Mommy did the star/flower shape and it was a little bit of a challenge for them to figure out...

The talkative one kept telling mom he wants to do a spaceship instead of the flower -____-

Mommy refused to let him do the spaceship and insisted that he did the flower first... in the end, he said "I do not know how to do your flower" and lowered down his head...awwww... *heart melts*

He's so cute when he does the manja trick.

So, in the end, mommy helped him with his flower and he was so happy he learnt how to do it :)

Then, I felt so sleepy (not a 6am person) I felt like driving to grandma's place for a short nap. I told mom I really have to do my thing and leave.

So, I went to her table and whipped out a box!

Immediately, they crowded around me. And you say they can be blur? They are really special and smart people ok!

Look what I bought!

Aren't they cute?

So I gave everyone their share :)

I said "thank you" to each of them when they came to get the bee chocolate from me... as part of my mom's class exercise in teaching them everyday courtesy/manners.

Everyone followed and said thank you.

One of the girls (not in photo) looked at me and uttered your welcome.

Hehe! She's so cute and really smart... melted my heart :)

I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother when I was back home. Hanging out most of the time with her at her shop, talking to her and my aunty + cousins ... and she accompanied me to the temples to pray.

Then, she suggested to go to the market to get something. So I drove us there.

Almost immediately, granny started to walk doubel the speed.

She was looking for Door Number 3 (the market has a lot of entrance) but because it has changed so much, we suggested to enter from Door Number 4 to get to Number 3.

So, at Number 4, we passed by the Fish Section. She was still walking very fast.

And practically, greeting everybody like she has finally met bunch of her long lost friends. So I asked her if she knew them.

She said "Yes! I haven't been here since my surgery and I used to always walk here...see, that is my friend"

Hehe!

She was as excited as me walking through boutiques and boutiques of beautiful clothing at the mall. Or maybe more excitement? =D

She was smiling all the way. Telling me a lot of stories of her and some of her marketing friends.

She also told me where she used to buy most of the fishes she cooked for us when we were young.

How she compare prices from different stalls.

She taught me how to choose the best out of the best and still buy at prices below retail.

She told me how many times she used to walk pass these little lanes at the market in a day (she used to live at walking distance to the market)

She also told me how prices have shot up high compared to the months and months she'd been missing her marketing days ...

I find the I have inherited my grandmother's marketing skills ... only that I use it at the mall. I buy different products in category. I don't use much cash but credit cards (accumulate points lah ok!).

And we both buy more than what we need.

p/s: only that my granny buys more to cook real good food for us... I feed the Malaysian economy. Hehe!

XOXO,
youRascal
