The Big Day

Dear Diary,

It is every girl's dream to be on the carousal. I had a wooden one given by my best friend. The carousal tells a lot of stories about my life.

On the horse, I'll listen to the musical playing in the background. It brings me back to my fondest memories. I'll reminisce the times I spent with my grandfathers; my grandmother's dishes and my mother's jokes. The ride goes up and down slightly, like how life is ... somehow or rather, it'll stop and bring you back to a destination you never thought you'll arrive at.

It tells a lot about my life and how life should be.

On the 14th of May, I never thought it'll be the most significant day of my life and was so lucky to be able to share with the people I truly admire and care about. They were all there for me.

It was a very beautiful day. The weather was treating us well. The sun was shining so bright throughout the day.

My day started early with me getting all made up at 5.30am. The artist was recommended by my friend, Karen, whom she uses for most of her shows. I was very lucky.

Darling's sister arrived early at my place, telling us that the bridal car did not turn up. I was shocked but surprised that I didn't panic. I told myself that things would somehow fall into place and that I was blessed enough to have this day come true.

We had lots of fun.
Or at least, my friends and family had the most fun challenging the groom. :)

While I was kept in the room in suspense and under great hands of Derrick Cheong, as my grandmother and sister looked on.

It would always be our wish to have our families around when we graduate, get married or when a newborn arrives.

I was truly happy to have both my grandmothers with me and I could sense the blessings from God, my grandfathers and uncles.

I always asked myself if this is all true and if I was that lucky? I could just thank everyone again and again the whole day.

I also had the chance to sit down and have some portrait shots with my childhood & best friend in the world. I knew her since I was a naive little girl and if there're any hidden secrets, she'll be the first to know :)

I told my fantastic photographer from Jon Low Studios to capture as many candid shots as possible. I love candid moments. It brings out the true laughter and natural expressions that tells a lot of story.

But in honour of our bridal party and best men, we had to take more portrait shots with them in their best suits.

I love all of these shots. Don't you?

These pictures tell a lot.

I could still remember the vow I read and words uttered during our solemnisation.

And how he kissed me that day when we posed for the photographer

And how both of us smiled when we saw all the beautiful people present that night when we walked down the aisle.

Look at my dad. He was smiling all day :)

My mother was enjoying herself and it was her first time getting all made up for an event

p/s: that was our fantastic emcee for the night, who made everyone cracked up with laughter.

And when all my relatives could turn up at the very last minute.

See how things fall into place? Don't worry too much :)

And when I had the honour of my tuition student drawing my wedding logo, I put it up high on the stage and all other stationary that night :)

This day would not fade, but it'll always stay in our souls forever.

I hope I made my family proud.

XOXO,
theRascal
