Despite the chaos in central KL (Bersih, remember?), the girlfriends still went ahead with our weekend getaway to Melaka, which is just about an hour's drive away from KL.
A lot of people have warned us about traffic. But you know what? It was so clear that we arrived less than an hour. The traffic was definitely in Melaka an no where else. It's crazy.
Melaka is truly famous for its Portuguese heritage sites, fabulous food like satay celup, chicken rice balls, cendol and not forgetting the endless counting downs of traffic lights!
A few of us were lost in Melaka but both Darling and I had our ever reliable Garmin to help us out. I kept wondering if we would still wind down our windows and ask passer-bys/locals for directions nowadays?
We went for an awesome dinner at the Portuguese Village, went back to our bungalow to celebrate MayJune's birthday and had fun playing the Bus Driver-Banana Tree-Monalisa game! We all laughed until our tummy ached so much!
Exactly 9 years ago, we were just college mates and then uni mates.
Now, we're all with our partners. 2 married and one with a kid.
:)
This is like the best crepe in Melaka and some say KL! :D
I tell you, I would go back to Melaka just for this cup of mango juice.
It's like the best of the best in the entire world.
TRUST ME.
We were posing, leaving a space for another friend of our
who couldn't be there because she has to hike a mountain
to watch the rainbow over the waterfall. =.=
DONT ASK.
In a few years time, we'll all be married and have to book
bigger individual rooms instead of bunking on to each other's beds.
Last but not least, it was my best friend's birthday too! Happy Buffday Kai Pei (mek!)
I love you forever.
XOXO,
theRascal
