Roaring Tiger 2010 year and the roaring sun!

Warning: super long entry

I was packing until late at night because I was going to board my flight back to Kay Bee the next day.

In heart, I had something I'm excited about as well (other than going home). I have been working on something for quite some time. Every detail, the story, cover and theme.

I was pondering about the simple and little project for some time. I didn't know if it would be relevant or would it be too simple for an event/present?

Should it be just this?
Should I add more details?
Should it be more extravagant?
Would Beanie like it?
Would he find it too simple?
Would he think it's childish?

... I have been thinking for a bit.

In the end, I decided to go ahead with it because it seems like the best and memorable thing I could give him.

Inspired by fourfeetnine.com, I crafted (OK I stretched this a little bit) this for him after few nights during weekdays, because that is the only time I could hide it from him. :)

Tadaaaa!!!!!

I got the album from Hallmark after walking from store to store in search for an album that I thought both of us would like. Something not childish, not too flashy.

Yes, I'm that detailed.

I wanted to buy/make a sketch book from scratch. But I figured I wouldn't have enough time to finish it and I didn't want to delay the project.

So for now, it'll start with an album. It's refillable by the way! :D

I selected, among our abundance of photos from the database of photo I had in my laptop and Facebook, very closely I picked. It wasn't that difficult to choose though.

Look at the abundance of photos we have! This are only two of the many pages I had.

I said it wasn't hard to choose the photos, but it was definitely difficult to filter out photos I chose to include. Also, I had little themes in each page to fit, remember?

So, I closely stick the photos and because I couldn't find my colourful gel pens, I settled for the basic black, blue and red pens (typical teacher) but written on colourful papers I bought months back when I had this planned (it used to be for a different project, which I delayed for now).

Hours before I board my flight back to Kay Bee on the 12th of February 2010, Beanie came over to pick me up, I showed it to him.

I was glad he had a big smile on his face!

*good start* :)

He opened and read every single page. Well not that there are a lot of things to read, but definitely more photos to reminisce.

Then, Beanie asked me to bring something from the paper bag he had brought to my house. Well, being me, I didn't realize what was in it.

He shove this huge registered mail out from the paper bag and asked me to open it.

Excited! I opened the envolope. OK I didn't opened it nicely because I didn't have the patience for that, so I tear it open.

Beanie saw that and was shaking his head.

"Aiyoyo, see how ladylike you are
" he simply said.

But I didn't bother. In my head I was thinking "Whatever! I wanna get this open! I can't wait!" :P

And guess what was in it?!?!?!

Tadaa!!!!!

A Tifanny & Co. paper bag!

YES, a paper bag. ONLY the bag.

Well you know what, I was a little puzzled but at the same time thinking "Hey guess what, I don't have a Tiffany but I have the paper bag. Yay!"

I thanked him and gave him a kiss.

So you know what, being a really hardworking blogger, I told Beanie I would just go into the room and grab my camera. -___-

Then, when I came out, I saw the paper bag filled with something.

I swear to God I knew something good was coming. :P

Not one. But TWO!

I was didn't even mention anything about this little girl's dream. But I guess he always knew how to make me happier.

You know I won't say happy because I am always happy. So...the word is happier. :P

We talked about not buying gifts for each other but somehow or rather, we just had gifts for one another. :)

I board the flight back to Kay Bee, spending 98% of the time talking to various people I met at the boarding area as well as in the flight.

You know when you come from a small town and during festive seasons, especially Chinese New Year, you'll know almost everyone on board. -____-

Spent the 1st morning in Kay Bee at the temple, giving our respect to our grandfathers, uncles and our ancestors, then I abandoned my parents + sisters, hoped into my cousin's car and went to have breakfast!

Nothing beats a simple breakfast. :)

This year, my cousin from Singapore joined us. I think it'd been at least 5 years that I haven't met him! OK, physically, because we do chat online.

I think this is our first photo together as a teenagers. YES I WOULD LIKE TO THINK I AM A TEENAGER CAN OR NOT :P

Finally, my cousin passed me something Leeli had helped Beanie buy from the States.

Canggih looking. And it's really good. Seriously.

This year, I spend nights at my family's new abode. Nearer to my cousin's and granny's place. Yay!

Reunion dinner was great! But no photos because it was just a steamboat and I was too occupied to take pictures. :P sorryyyy

Then, first day of Chinese New Year!

I love my dress bought (last minute) from BACI. :)

Do you like it?

Chinese New Year was okay. It means spending more time with the family + relatives. Besides, I didn't have enough time back there this year.

That's my uncle trying to train my (plum) dog's patience.

Me and the Wong family cousins.

Immediately, after prayers at the temples, my sisters and I went over to my maternal granny's place because all of my (mother's side) cousins are there!

I bought her these pins from Disneyland. It's suppose to be Pooh's ear. Does it look like it? Because most of my cousins say it looks like Shrek's ear!

Shrek's ear is not in this shape and it will be green!!!

Some of us could not be present for this photo.

She was so fascinated by my iPhone. After just a few minutes of coaching, she knew how to exit the screen/program by pressing the Home button and how to start her favourite game!

Yes, and she also knew how to scroll to different pages. :)

The next day, she saw my camera and start to play around with it.

Again, I taught her how to take a photo and ....

Tadaaaaa.......!!!

She started to take a lot of self-shots!!!!!

I showed her the pictures on the preview screen and told her that she held the camera the wrong side but she snatched the camera back and continued her thing.

-_________-!!!

I tell you, this little girl is a real good potential photographer!!! Or, future cam-whore. =.=

Then, it was milk time!

Because we were heading somewhere near paradise. At least, my cousins and I love the place since we were young.

Tadaaaa!!!!

Yes, every time we're here, we remember our grandfather. I miss you.

We brought these for our picnic!

But before we hit the waves, we whhhoooop the donuts first. :P

Future surfer boy. :)

Then, my aunty changed the little girl but she refused to step out from the picnic mat!

She touched the sand after warming up a little, BUT told her daddy that it's dirty.

THEN, wiped her hands and feet on the daddy's shirt.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

After a while, she started digging a hole. -_____-

My cousins and I started to hit the beach. :)

Of course, we always want to have a group shot!

The boys run around freely along the waves.

It was a very happy day. The sun was really beautiful.

Then, all of a sudden, I proposed a jumping shot to depict how happy we were!

So, I told them, jump and the count of 3.

Then, after a few tries, this is one of the best picture I could get!

Then, my aunt Cherry came and said she'll help us take our jumping photo.

Again, I told everybody, jump at the count of 3.

Everybody was like "okay! Let's do it!"

... ... ...

... ...

...

and then ...

See!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess who's that idiot raising her hands like she's super-duper madly excited about the whole jumping shot!

I said jump at the count of 3 !!!!

Grrrrrrrrr.................

Then, aunt Cherry said "OK, let's try again!"

-______________-

AGAIN.

I said at the count of 3 ! Count of 3 !!!!!

Anywayyy, this one below is the best of all the shots we had. :)

The formation somehow looks good, right? :)

Please say yes. Because my little cousin boy beside me kept splashing water at me half of my pants were wet!

-_________-

After that, the little girls kept themselves occupied with sea creatures. If that is what you call them. =.=

That night, my family and I went for a gathering with our family friends. :)

Above: If you know Jules from Fly.fm, guess which one is her?
Below: The (elder) grown-ups catching up. Men with their business talk. =.=

We got ourselves occupied with more picture taking.

-____-

Before I board the plane back to KL, Pei and I catch up for a while.

Thanks for sending me to the airport. :)

And she just love my dog too. :P

I came back and catch up with more visiting of family and friends in KL before we start work!

We celebrated our replacement V'day and Anniversary dinner at Zouk in The Garden :)

Here are some of the food we ordered:

Wild Mushroom Soup

Cantonese Noodle (I think)

Lamb. Tasted like rubber/rock because it was cooked well-done. Yuck.

And guess where was I before starting the week full of work on my table?

Yes. We went to the clinic.

Not because of food poisoning (choi!) but something called flu + cough.

FML.

Beanis is also down with sore throat + cough since CNY started. Haih.

Hopefully we both recover/get well before our trip to the Lion City this Friday! Woohoo!

Get well soon Get well soon Get well soon

XOXO,
